This story was published Thursday May 29th 2008 By the Herald staff The Association for Washington Business has given community service awards to two Tri-City businesses, Fluor and Vista Engineering Technologies. Fluor Corp. received the award for the eighth time for its continuing support of the United Way of Benton and Franklin Counties. Over the last 11 years, Fluor Hanford and its employees have contributed nearly $8.7 million, including a 50 percent match by the Fluor Foundation for donations raised by employees. It has also loaned executives and sponsored United Way events. Vista Engineering Technologies donated more than $129,000 to community organizations, provided complimentary engineering services and encouraged employee participation in community events, according to the Association of Washington Business. |
