Fluor, Vista Engineering win service awards

The Association for Washington Business has given community service awards to two Tri-City businesses, Fluor and Vista Engineering Technologies.

Fluor wins $8 billion Savannah River contract

The Department of Energy confirmed that Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, a team led by Fluor, has won the contract for the management and operations of the Savannah River nuclear site in South Carolina.

Hanford ships 1,000 pounds of plutonium to New Mexico

The Department of Energy and Fluor Hanford have shipped more than 1,000 pounds of plutonium from Hanford to a national repository in New Mexico.

K East Basin expected to be dry by Monday

Fluor Hanford expects to finish draining the last of the radioactive water from Hanford's leak-prone K East Basin by Monday, said Con Murphy, Fluor Hanford president.
