This story was published Thursday June 26th 2008 By the Herald staff The Department of Energy has named Randolph Construction Services in Pasco the Woman-Owned Small Business of 2007. It was one of 14 businesses across the nation given awards this week at DOE's Ninth Annual Small Business Conference in San Antonio. Randolph Construction was honored for creative solutions on DOE projects, good customer service and the value it brought to government work. Battelle nominated the company, which was founded in 1982 and has 42 employees. Its largest clients last year were the Army Corps of Engineers, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and the National Nuclear Security Administration. Randolph Construction did the site preparation work for the new Physical Sciences Facility at PNNL, which is operated by Battelle, under a $1.7 million contract. It also has done work for the lab to deploy radiation detection systems at seaports. |
