This story was published Wednesday December 14th 2005 By the Herald staff Neil Gehrels, a scientist for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, will give a free talk at 10 a.m. today on astrophysical short gamma-ray bursts. The talk will describe the events surrounding the detection of several short gamma-ray bursts from deep space in 2005. It will be in the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory, or LIGO, auditorium at Hanford. Driving directions can be found at www.ligo-wa.caltech.edu/traveler.html. |
