Frank Armijo promoted to VP for Hanford contractor

This story was published Thursday December 17th 2009

By the Herald staff

RICHLAND -- Frank Armijo of Richland has been promoted to vice president of energy and environmental services for Lockheed Martin's Information Systems & Global Services-Civil division.

The promotion was announced to employees Wednesday by Ken Asbury, president of IS&GS-civil.

Armijo has served in leadership roles with Lockheed Martin for 15 years, and most recently was Lockheed's director of information management for Mission Support Alliance.

He will lead the company's team in supporting Hanford Mission Support Alliance, energy and environmental services.

"With this new appointment, I look forward to continuing to deliver on Lockheed Martin's commitment to our Hanford customers, our Richland employees and the Tri-Cities community," Armijo said in a statement.

He has been active in Tri-City community service, and is a past recipient of the Tri-Citian of the Year award.

Earlier this year, the Department of Energy selected a team led by Lockheed Martin to manage and operate the new Mission Support Contract at Hanford. Lockheed's partners in the 10-year, $3 billion contract are Jacobs Engineering Group and Wackenhut Services.

The contract covers Hanford site services such as safety, security and environment, site infrastructure and utilities, site business management, information resources and content management and portfolio management.
