This story was published Wednesday May 27th 2009 By the Herald staff The 90-day transition of the Hanford support services contract from Fluor Hanford to the Lockheed Martin-led Mission Support Alliance began Tuesday. The Department of Energy awarded the $3 billion, five-year contract in late April and gave its approval to proceed two weeks ago after learning the contract award would not be protested. The contract includes an option for a five-year extension. The Lockheed team also includes Jacobs Engineering Group and Wackenhut Services. The Mission Support Alliance expects to make job offers to most of the 1,700 Fluor Hanford employees. |
